Why doesn’t the heat in my mobile home work?

Most mobile home HVAC systems use either a gas furnace or an electric furnace to produce heat. When the heat in a mobile home is not working the root of the problem is usually the furnace. Both gas furnaces and electric furnaces can break which results in an inability to produce warm air to be distributed around the home. In some cases you can repair your furnace but in other cases you may need to replace your current furnace with a newer model. While problems with the furnace are common, that is not the only possible explanation for the lack of heat.

A faulty thermostat is another possible reason why the heat is not working in your mobile home. The thermostat constantly measures the temperature inside your home to ensure that the HVAC system is doing its job. If the sensor in the thermostat is misreading the temperature, the system will think that the interior of the home is the correct temperature and not turn on the heat. This problem can be solved by installing a new thermostat.
