FAQ’s

Read through some of the most commonly asked questions we receive.

Over time, the duct in air conditioning systems collects dust, smoke, grease and other biological pollutants like pet dander and pollen. These cause health problems like asthma and allergies. They block the air flow, thus increasing your energy bills. An inefficient duct system not only decreases efficiency, but also causes it to work harder which then affects longevity. Sometimes duct leakage on your HVAC system can increase the time it takes to heat or cool your home, which also adds to your energy bills.

Air is pulled inside the house through an air duct which then passes through a filtration system. This filtered air is then circulated through a heat exchanger to a temperature set by your thermostat. When set on cool, the air that is pulled inside your home is cooled by the condensing unit which is pushed into the room through the blower.

Improper air flow can cause problems such as hot and cold spots, a noisy HVAC system, odor and sometimes vibration.

There could be several reasons why your HVAC freezes up. It could either be because of a leak in your refrigerant, the coil of the HVAC not getting enough air, which can result in the coil temperature becoming so cold that ice forms on it, or because the air filter or air duct is dirty and needs immediate cleaning.

Homeowners who replace old and outdated HVAC systems can qualify for tax credits by replacing them with new high efficiency seer ratings. Tax credits can be claimed by filling the 5695 Form.
